Everyone is welcome at Assemble Church, and that will always be the true. But beyond Sundays there is a deeper sense of connection that you’re invited into. The New Testament talks consistently about the Body of Believers; a group of Jesus-followers knitted together to outwork a unified purpose in Christ, partnering with one another for the sake of the Gospel.
Partnership at Assemble Church is our idea for how to bring that together - so that we can each know who we’re on mission with. It’s a commitment to one another, and embodies four key components:
1.Conviction
Assemble Church partners agree to the code of ethics and conduct of Assemble Church - not our own “rules”, but biblical principles, concepts and ideas by which to try to live our lives. None of us are perfect, but we are called to move from one degree of glory to the next - being discipled in the ways and teachings of Jesus. Assemble Church, as with any church, maintains its biblical interpretation of theologies and doctrines, and whilst partners may have different personal interpretations, we agree with the church’s established teaching on a variety of topics - particularly as they pertain to responses to modern secular ideologies. Unity is our strength, and consensus around teaching on important issues is essential for our growth as a church, and as individuals. Our full Statement of Theology and Lifestyle will be available soon.
2. Contribution
Assemble Church teaches the biblical principle of generosity. Old Testament tithing served as merely the training wheels for the New Testament’s model of generosity. Assemble Church Partners share that spirit of generosity. We acknowledge that God calls us into sacrificial giving, supporting the work of the ministry for the proclamation of His name, and the serving of our community. We, therefore, acknowledge the necessity to give regularly to the church
3. Community
The bible calls us to never stop meeting together. Our primary outworking of community is through Life Groups. These serve as the best place to build on another up, encourage one another, and spur each other on in the faith. Committing to the church means committing to the people in the church - we do not pledge allegiance to a charitable organisation, after all. Assemble Church Partners are members of a Life Group for the week-to-week outworking of the community that we’re called to be part of.
4. Commission
The whole church is called to serve - not just a select few. Serving the body so that the body can serve the community is essential to the work we’ve been set. Assemble Church Partners are committed to serving one another, and those outside the church, through a variety of serving teams. We are on mission together, that’s why it’s called the Great Co-Mission.
