Assemble Church Launch

It's Assemble Church launch day! Months of preparation, prayer, and planning have lead to this day - and the question now is: what's next?

Today Dom explores some of the vision and strategy for Assemble Church over the first 5 years. We look to the creation of the world in Genesis 1 to discover God's blueprint for strategy towards a vision.

Before all, however, we begin Assemble Church with the most important declaration; In the beginning God. At the very start of everything we're doing and will ever do - we place God first.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers' Day! This one week series looks at the characteristics of God demonstrated throught the supporting character of Mordecai in the story of Esther

Gospel Of John

Assemble Church is a church of bible believers, and we're starting out in our very first series - a chapter by chapter study into the gospel of John.

The great thing about chapter by chapter series is that we can all read ahead to see what we'll be studying on Sunday. I'd encourage you to take some time to sit down and read the chapter for yourself before you hear what the preacher has to say. Pray first, ask God what he wants to say to you through His word.

I'm super excited for us to read the bible together!

Hello. I Am

Hello. I Am explores some of the nature and character of God, by unpacking some of the story of God through the names given to God in the scripture. Throughout the Old Testament God is given different titles that describe an aspect of who He is, in an attempt to bring some level of comprehension to our incomprehensible God.

We’re exploring some of these names in this series, and then discovering how Jesus embodies the characteristics that the names of God speak of, and what that means for us.

Preparation

Often it's difficult to recognise when we're in a season that God is using to prepare us for the next thing He has in mind for us to do. Recognising the season of preparation is not always easy, but once we recognise that we're always in a season where we're being prepared for something bigger - we can begin to position ourselves to take make the most of the season.

We read in the book of Leviticus that God's people must take action in order to be prepared to receive God's blessing. With this in mind, we look to Jesus to find out how he prepared himself for his public ministry and ultimate conquering of the enemy.

Progressive Overload

The purpose of the series is to help us to establish a good pattern for consistent growth in our spiritual lives and our relationships, primarily with God, but also the church, family, friends, and our community. Progressive Overload applies the principle of small successive steps, as opposed to big and quick changes that are unmaintable.

The key passage of meditation that encompasses the series is found in 2 Corinthians 3:18:

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

In context, the passage contrasts the old covenants and the new covenant, and assures the reader that the new covenant is truly glorious, and 2 Corinthians 3:18 details that our full transformation is not immediate, but rather staged and successive.

In light of a new year, we remind ourselves of the New Covenant, doing away with the ways of old, and looking towards what is new for this year. Also in light of the new year, where new years resolutions are often instantiated, the series is bedded in a gym-going analogy, because joining a gym is a popular way to start the new year.

The Promise

God promised in Isaiah that a day was coming when the Messiah would arrive and usher in a government of peace. The angels bring good news to the lowly shepherds and confirm that a new and unexpected way to govern is coming to pass that will indeed bring peace on earth.

Our Christmas teaching this year focuses on The Promise made by God, and the outworking of that promise through Jesus Christ.

Unveiled

Jesus said that the truth would set us free. We're exploring the biblical truths that God has given us and figuring out how these truths apply to our lives and give us the freedom that Jesus died to give for us.
